I have zero tolerance for OOC drama. If you have a problem with me, you have to come off of anon and talk to me. Not my friends. Not my roleplaying partners. ME. It’s much easier to sort out the issue in private than to gossip on my dash and cause trouble for everyone else. Vagueblogging, rumors and immaturity in general will never be tolerated here, and I won’t hesitate to unfollow, block, and blacklist you if you do so. It triggers my anxiety big time.
Also, anon hate will never be tolerated here. If you have a problem with me, you’re gonna have to reveal your identity.
I will roleplay with MUTUALS ONLY. If you follow me and I don’t follow you back, don’t be offended. I want to keep a clean dash. This includes sending asks. If we’re not mutuals and you send me an ic ask, I will not answer.
Please don’t call me sempai. I find it very insulting as it implies that I am above you, which I’m not. I am neither above nor below you. I am a person, just like you. If you’re gonna follow me, I’m going to ask that you respect that.

IC ≠ OOC

People I am friends with OOC may not be friends with my muse and vice versa.
I am responsible for Sokka's actions, but his morals are different from mine. Do not treat us as the same person.

Roleplaying and Interactions.

This blog’s default verse is post-series. However, I will gladly RP in other timelines and verses.
No godmodding/metagaming. Seriously, don’t do it. That shit ain’t cool.
Potential relationships, plots and OOC discomforts will be discussed with me.
Don’t be afraid to approach me if we’re in a mutual! Wanna send me a random starter? Go for it. Wanna tag me in something? Please do! If you want to talk to me ooc, tell me! These rules might make me sound harsh, but I’m friendly and always willing to start threads with new people.
I will happily accept constructive criticism about the way I portray my muse as well as my writing in general. Just give it to me politely.
Real life is more important than roleplaying. I am a busy college student with a workload the size of Mount Everest. So if I take a break, you’re going to have to respect that. That said, I am also lazy, forgetful, and a perfectionist. But I will get around to your reply eventually.
Do NOT badger me for a reply. Give me at least 3 days before sending me a gentle reminder. After that, keep the reminders to a minimum. If you guilt me into responding before I’m ready, I will immediately drop the thread.
If you want to get my attention, I track the tag anomaliies.

I am open to script, paragraph and multiparagraph styles of writing. Novella is still in the works.
I am open to OC interactions, provided that they are well developed and interesting. I don’t want to deal with Mary Sues/Gary Stus.
I will interact with people from other fandoms I am familiar with. If I don’t know your fandom, I won’t follow you.
I am very picky about following back alternates/duplicates of my character. I am not trying to be mean or condescending, but I don’t really like to talk to duplicates of my character for two reasons: 1) I may get insecure about my portrayal and 2) there’s not much we can do with two of the same muse aside from the whole “Oh hey, you’re me,” stuff. There are some people who can pull it off, but I’m not one of them.

Shipping and NSFW

I am currently 20 years old, while my muse’s age ranges from 12-18 depending on the universe he’s in. US law prohibits any sexual activity with a minor (that is, anyone under the age of 18), including sexually explicit roleplays. I will not write NSFW threads unless the mun and the muse are at or above the age of consent. Fade to black scenarios are permitted, however. Otherwise, smut is welcome on my blog and put under a read-more as well as the tag nsfw ///.
Shipping is based solely on chemistry. That is, if you feel that our characters interact well, send me an ask. Who knows? I might feel the same way. But if I disagree with you, you’re gonna have to respect that. Force a ship on me and I will automatically unfollow you.
There will be NO Sokka/Katara of any form on this blog.

Tagging/Triggers

Triggers on this blog may include blood, gore, violence, mentions of the supernatural, and possible verbal and emotional abuse. They will all be tagged accordingly. If you ever need something tagged, don’t hesitate to tell me.
That said, please tag the following: spiders, animal abuse, anti Semitism, emetophobia/emetophilia, vore, rape, incest, dubcon, pedophilia, eye gore, suicide, and car accidents. If you don’t, I will unfollow you immediately.
Tag your OOC negativity. Please. I understand that people have their off days, but coming onto a dash full of negativity and drama makes me seriously uncomfortable. If you have to vent, please tag it as negative //. If you don’t do it once, I will ask you politely to tag it. The next time, I will unfollow you.
I’m going to be very picky about tagging ships. If the ship legitimately triggers you, I will tag it. Otherwise, I will not do it. It makes roleplaying more tedious both for myself and my partner.

Graphics

Do NOT steal my graphics. That includes my theme graphic, my icons, promo banners, etc. I put hours and hours of work into making this blog look good, so stealing my stuff is not cool. Trust me, I will know.
If you win a graphic (theme, promo, etc.), please use it. I put a TON of effort into my graphics, and it really hurts me when no one uses my giveaway prizes. If you don’t like a prize, tell me and I will make you a new one as soon as I can.
Personal blogs should not EVER reblog my promotion banners. Promotion banners are to attract the attention of potential followers/roleplaying partners. They’re supposed to tell everyone who you’re roleplaying and in some cases, give a snapshot of what you’ll see in the blog’s content. If you rp on a sideblog, reblog the promo banner on there, not your main.
Do not ask me questions about graphics and coding. I am a roleplaying blog, not a resource. Any questions pertaining to these two subjects will automatically be deleted.

Last words.

Please trim your posts. Untrimmed posts clutter up my dash and are a pain to scroll through. There are guides on how to do that both on the computer and on mobile. It’s easy and it takes literally five seconds. If I see an RP going over 4 lines, I will immediately unfollow you.
Do not reblog asks. I usually like to start threads via ask memes, but I cannot stand how reblogged asks look on my dash. Instead, copy and paste my answer into a new post and then type out your reply. Then we’ll have a nice, clean thread.
These rules will be updated as I see fit.

Q: Okay, but do you make any exceptions?
A: Absolutely not. I am aware that some people are interested in plotting with me, but I do not accept any roleplay requests from anyone who is a non-mutual. I reserve the right to decline a roleplay request at any time, and I ask that you respect that.

Q: Can I send memes if we are not mutuals?
A: If it’s an ic meme, no. Sending ic asks counts as interacting with my muse, which is not allowed for non-mutuals. However, you are free to send me ooc memes!

Q: Why haven’t you responded to our thread?
A: I’m really slow. I am very busy with university and real life obligations, which are extremely exhausting. This can drain my muse for a thread, especially if it’s a long multi-para. I might also get distracted by other things, such as other threads, answering asks, talking to friends, etc. I will get to our thread when I feel that I am ready. You are free to send me a reminder, but badgering me constantly will never be tolerated here.

Q: That theme/promo banner/icon is so pretty! Can I have it?
A: No. I have disabled the right click shortcut for a reason. The graphics do make my blog look nice, but they serve another purpose: I’ll be able to tell who’s been stealing my stuff. Trust me, I will know. And if I catch you stealing any of my things, I will immediately blog and report you. No exceptions.

Q: Can you make me a theme/promo banner/icon(s)?
A: I am a roleplay blog, not a resource. Mutuals are free to send me requests for graphics, and I may post the occasional tutorial. If anything, most of my graphics will be given out to close friends or giveaway winners.

Whitewashing is racist.

Yes it really is. All whitewashing is racist and it’s extremely harmful.
I’ve noticed a lot of PoC people seem to have this reservation about calling whitewashing racist. In my opinion, I feel like the real reason this is is because they don’t know the real definition of racism. AND BEFORE YOU GO GOOGLE IT and give me the dictionary.com or the Merriam-Webster definition, DON’T.
What is racism?
I’d like to point you to the real definition (1, 2). The dictionary definition is not accurate since it wasn’t written by people who actually face racism, those people would be People of Color (everyone that’s non-white). In a short sentence, white people do not face racism, PoC do.
I also have this feeling that people do not really grasp full what whitewashing really is.
So what is whitewashing?
Whitewashing is the practice in which a person (director, producer, a fan, etc.) takes a character who is originally of color in canon work, and replaces them with a white actor or a white FC claim (role-playing games.)
It is also used to describe the entertainment industry’s attempt to make a PoC character look more “white” in order to appeal to the white masses.
Are you understanding this sparky?
People have said whitewashing isn’t racist because people do it subconsciously.
WRONG! It’s still racist! But whitewashing does happen subconsciously. Though this reason can only apply to books, not tv shows or movies. Yes people, white and PoC have whitewashed subconsciously, I have even done it. Why is this so? The media and in society in general, constantly projects that white is the norm and everything that is not white is…well…abnormal. Because of this, People of Color (unless miraculously they grew up in a home where diversity was projected) at a young age have learned this, have absorbed this.
So when continuously being told or shown that white is normal, people have tendencies to read characters as white. An example of this would be what some people did to Blaise Zabini, a character from Harry Potter. He was given no real description until book 6 and was described as “Blaise was a tall black boy with high cheekbones and long, slanting eyes.” So up until book 6, some people saw him as white male or even a white female. After book six when he was given a description, people continued to write him as a white male or white female in their fanfiction stories, draw him white in fanart, and use white actor/actresses for FC claims for him. This still continues today.
Basically at a point subconsciously whitewashing isn’t a good excuse, especially when people call the person out about it. When a person does whitewash subconsciously, when they read a character as white, and a person calls them out about their whitewashing, the simple thing for the whitewasher to do would be to fix the fanart, FC (face claim), etc. Personally they become racist to me, when they refused to fix their mistake and instead spend the entire time making excuses for themselves. And then end up not fixing their mistake.
Also just because someone says they did it “subconsciously” doesn’t mean it’s always true. People also have reading comprehension problems, just look at the Hunger Games fandom.
Which brings us to the people who just do it on purpose. Yes, those people are out there. These are the people who refuse to believe a character is of color. Yes! Out right refuse. They are also the people who defend whitewashing and chuck it off as “It’s just a FC claim” “It’s my own artistic interpretation!!1” “I just always saw her/him as white” “I just felt like they were white”. Hey, guess what!? Your FC claim is racist. Your artistic interpretation is racist. Your reading is awful. And your feelings suck.
Not only is racist, it’s also disrespectful to the novelist, comic writer, comic artist, etc, that you so claim to admire, who made that character a Person of Color. Let’s time I checked, it’s their work and I’m pretty sure they knew what they were doing when they made that character, of color.
Internalized Racism
Back to this again. It is not just the individual it’s also the community the individual is apart of. Again, society projects this “White is Right” and “The whiter the better” which leads to PoC to have internalized racism. ((TW: On the Links) Examples of self-hate: Skin Bleaching [1, 2, 3], Asian Blepharoplasty [1]) Sometimes the individual doesn’t do any of these things, sometimes they just harbor hate for themselves.
PoC fight self-hatred every day, it’s a constant battle. For People of Color to stand up against racism is a great feat. None of the people who advocate against whitewashing is immune to falling back into internalized racism. None of us are immune to making mistakes either. And PoC who have not gotten to this place are not to be chastised or looked down upon (Something I need to remind myself constantly) because getting to that place is extremely difficult. Especially when you have so many obstacles stacked up against you.
So what the hell was this random, long, rambling post about. Simple. Whitewashing is racist and it’s harmful.
Because when a person whitewashes, when they take a character of color and make them white, what their saying is is Brown or Black skin is ugly.
Are you responsible for equal media representation? Is it your duty to defend anti-whitewashing?
YES! Everybody is responsible for ending whitewashing. Actors/Actresses, directors, writers, producers, the person who work with the lights, and YOU! The consumer! Stop going to see these whitewashed movies. Spend your money somewhere else. The only reason these filmmakers continue to watch these movies is because you go out and spend your movie to go see them. Support films with a diverse cast. Support novels and graphic novels with diverse characters. If you’re a upcoming filmmaker, writer (novelist, screenwriter), comic artist, etc. feature some People of Color in your work.
Avoid stereotypes! People of color are not caricatures. We are people. Learn, Learn, Learn, Learn. And then do some more learning. I think I can speak for all of us when I see we are tired of seeing this.

Listen up kiddos, you’re in for a long, fucking ride. The entire reason why I’ve not been online today has been a mixture of my own depression and dysphoria spiking and the news today that someone I care about has been receiving hate for the quoted reason. Now, I don’t know about you but my muse has moods where she’s only going to answer one or two people and only those people.
This is not going under a cut because I’m keeping this short. I am so sorry that this post contains cussing, but I’m legitimately angry right now and tbh I haven’t been able to calm down all day.
Reasons for an RPer not answering your meme/ask:
They don’t have muse
They don’t want to
They can’t figure out how to answer right now
The mun is busy with real life stuff
The muse is being picky
Your fandom and the mun’s fandom don’t line up
The ask didn’t send and the tumblr gods ate it
They Don’t want to
Do any of those reasons warrant hate? No, they don’t. The people behind blogs are just that, people, they are human who think and feel and possess emotions the same as you and I. They are human they are going to have favorites and if you are salty because of that? Well, go evaluate your life because RP is a hobby, RP is supposed to be fun and robbing that fun from someone else is not okay.
Is it frustrating to not have your ask answered, or your meme replied to? Yes. I’ve had plenty of people not answer memes I sent, but I never once sent hate. It’s their blog and there’s multiple interpretations of their muse, if one doesn’t answer or tells you they do not want to RP with you go find someone else. Perhaps you’ll find a mun for the muse you want to RP with and you’ll click.
But sending hate because you’re a salty asshat who doesn’t understand muses are picky and muns are human? Get out of my dashboard and go sit in the time out corner and evaluate your lives.
